On the IHB, 160.665 (37-37) is no longer used. The Gibson Hump
has long
since closed and the IHB released this frequency some years ago,
a mistake
they realized far too late. Their Gibson yard channel 160.485
(25-25), is
used across the entire Gibson District which includes the relay
yard at
Gibson (now the auto switching facility), Michigan Avenue Yard
in East
Chicago, and the Lakefront Yard in Indiana Harbor (East Chicago).
Technically, the Gibson District is all the trackage east of CP
Cal Park on
the main line. The only problem with this channel is the UP also
uses it on
the former CNW line from Chicago to Milwaukee. You can easliy
here the UP
Dispatcher talking to trains and sometimes here the trains answer
back
depending on the weather.
